What is in a Milk Peel and why it works!
Dermaceutic Milk Peel Treatment is a medical grade chemical peel that targets dull skin, fine lines and complexion irregularities. I have found that it is a very versatile treatment as it's suitable for all skin types. My clients have said that it has reduced their freckles after one treatment with slight peeling and stated that they would definitely have it again, so I have written a breakdown of what is in our Milk Peel product for your perusal :-
Boasting 50% glycolic acid, this much loved ingredient is one of our secrets to youthful-looking skin, from anti-aging to acne and hyperpigmentation, provides a radiant complexion and a smoother texture.
Glycolic is the smallest member of the hydroxyacid (AHA) family derived from sugarcane. Low molecular weight, as it's a small molecule it will penetrate the skin deeper. It works in an exfoliative way to support skin cell turnover. In turn produces more collagen production and supports moisture retention.
The other 50% of the Milk peel is made up of salicylic and lactic acids, ph1.7 for fine wrinkle reduction, skin lightening, oily skin regulation.
Salicylic acid is a beta-hydroxy acid (AHA) which is a great pore cleaner, reduces acne and congested skin, It penetrates the skin and works to dissolve the dead skin cells clogging the pores, it gets rid of blackheads and whiteheads and helps to prevent further outbreaks.
Our third main product used is the Lactic Acid, a carbohydrate which is found in milk, this is why we call this treatment the Milk Peel. It dates back to ancient Egyption times when Cleopatra used to bathe in sour milk to keep her skin looking youthful. It is also a Alpha hydroxy Acid (AHA) and is a water soluble organic compound which offers unparalleled benefits to the skin. It minimises pigmentation and boosts hydration improving skin texture, as It's a humectant, which draws moisture into the skin, removes pigment by inhibiting tyrosinase.
This treatment is a lunchtime peel and doesn't take long at all to have done, It can be a bit bitey, but the body of the treatment takes only between 3 to 5 minutes, we keep your skin cool with a fan so it is very bearable. Treatment can be repeated every 2 weeks for a total of 3 - 4 sessions. There is no downtime after this peel, but you may get some peeling over the next few days, as everyone is different,
